Although authors are indeed considered a business these days, not every Author has the time or energy to write the book and grow their following.

At The Unapologetic Voice House, we know firsthand what it takes to build a platform, create visibility, and grow an audience.

Founded in 2019, we've been privileged to help authors publish ground-breaking works, and we have several new titles in the works.

As independent publishers of female-driven stories, we're interested in building and launching legacies for women. We aspire to uncover new voices that women will be inspired by for years to come.

Our founder, Carrie, aspires to help determined, courageous women share their experiences with the world. Once a journalist, she has always had a passion for storytelling. In her first business venture, she created a series of workbooks that were sold through an independent publisher.

Eventually, she experienced burnout in her first business and went back to her roots of storytelling. She focused on telling personal stories for mass news outlets and even dabbled in public speaking for a bit.  During that time, she wrote a book about her experience with burnout and pitched it to 80 traditional agents. Dozens responded positively with one big fat exception: her platform wasn't big enough.

So, she decided to grow her platform and spent chunks of time pitching agents – until she woke up one morning and realized she could be the publishing house. Months later, The Unapologetic Voice House was born. Carrie has infused her publishing process with everything she felt was missing and wished she had as an author.

We are committed to supporting our authors. After all, publishing a book is a marathon and a team sport. It's technical, creative, and strategic, and you shouldn't have to do it alone!

Our Publishing Focus

Here at The Unapologetic Voice House, we select all book projects according to our mission, vision, guidelines, and manifesto.

While we don't publish children's books or cookbooks, we are looking for manuscripts in the following genres:

Supporting Authors Before, During, and After Publication

At the Unapologetic Voice House, we work with authors with or without a platform. We're independent publishers who support every Author beginning the moment they sign their contract.

We work with our authors to have their work seen by as many people as possible while letting them hold the rights to their work. Our authors keep full ownership of their book and license us the right to publish it. They can either receive 65% of the net profits of their print book sales or 70% of the net profits from all ebook sales.

We also have a distribution network that provides access to 50,000 libraries and thousands of bookstores throughout the United States, Canada, and the rest of the world.
